Krawiec wins ringers bike battle in all-Harley final

Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines rider Eddie Krawiec won the eight-rider Ringers Gloves Pro Bike Battle bonus event at the NHRA Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis. It was the first NHRA event win for Krawiec, who earned a $25,000 bonus for his victory, and the fifth consecutive year that a Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines rider has raced a Harley-Davidson V-Rod to win the Pro Stock Motorcycle bonus event at the U.S. Nationals.

Harley-Davidson 105th Anniversary MDA contributions reach 6.7 million

Harley-Davidson 105 th Anniversary fundraising for the Muscular Dystrophy Association reached $6.7 million surpassing its original $6 million goal for 105 th Anniversary fundraising. The 2008 total brings cumulative 28-year fundraising for MDA to more than $71 million. The announcement was made during Harley-Davidson’s Anniversary celebration in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The announcement will be broadcast on the annual Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon.

Coolbeth wins Sunday, is second on Labor Day at Springfield

Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle factory rider Kenny Coolbeth won the first race of an AMA Grand National Twins flat-track double-header on the Springfield Mile on August 31, and finished second on Labor Day in the second twins race of the weekend at the Illinois State Fair Grounds. Aiming for his third consecutive Grand Nationals Twins championship, Coolbeth opened a 36-point lead over his closest rival for the title, Latus Harley-Davidson/Screamin’ Eagle rider Joe Kopp, with three events left on the schedule. Kopp was just six points behind Coolbeth before the Springfield double, but failed to finish the first race and was eighth in the second.
