Billings, Mt (August 5, 2008)
Beartooth Harley-Davison/Buell announced today that they will be hosting a free concert on Friday, August 22nd to commemorate Harley-Davidson’s 105th Anniversary. The event kicks off at 4PM! Country recording artist Whiskey Falls and Shelly Fairchild will headline this event with Steve Richard performing as well.
Shelly Fairchild has an edgy, distinct style. Her dynamic stage presence conveys the experience of a stage actress and the live-wire energy and hot-blooded emotion of a risk-taker who can open the throttle and roar, or slow down to caress a lyric with intimate conviction.
Whiskey Falls is comprised of band members Seven Williams, Wally Brandt, Damon Johnson, and Buck Johnson. They have been influenced by such bands as The Eagles, Alabama, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Johnny Cash, U2, and Queen.
Whiskey Falls is named after a national park in northern California and began writing and recording their music with no intention other than to record the music they enjoyed creating together. After seeing the band perform live as unsigned artists at an industry event, independent label Midas Records signed Whiskey Falls and put them on the road three days later.
The first single “Last Train Running” landed the band on the prestigious stage of the Grand Ole Opry weeks after its release. Their song “Load up the Bases” was selected as the official theme song for Fox Sports South Network’s coverage of major league baseball and continues to be played in MLB stadiums nationwide.
After fourteen months as a band, Whiskey Falls was named 2008’s “Breakout Band of the Year” by Nashville’s Music Row and have been featured on the top 40 hits. They have been featured in many major publications such as USA Weekend, Billboard Magazine, People Magazine, Country Weekly and many more.
Steve Richard has toured extensively, at one point performing 100 club dates a year and has opened for such bands as Lynyrd Skynrd, Dickey Betts, .38 Special and Van Zant. Steve’s hit song “Faster, Faster” was written and produced by John Rich of the well known duo Big and Rich. Richard also works closely with producer/engineer Michael Bradford and composer Jeff Silbar. Steve states, “My style of music reflects the love for bands like Lynyrd Skynrd and the Allman Brothers, along with classic sounds of George Jones, Waylon Jennings and Buck Owens, to Cream, The Who and The Rolling Stones…you’ve got the picture. It’s very much a rocking record, but is completely steeped in country tradition.”
